This game states that it is for grades K+ but three year old Izzy loves this game! We play with it a little differently than the directions on the website. I'm pretty sure I read the directions for the game we do play in the game play rules that come with the game. Anyway what we do is pass out five cards each. Then we take turns saying "I put in Grandma's Trunk...." then we say what the picture is and what letter that word starts with. See how much fun we are having! 

I do think that Izzy is up for a new challenge so we'll have to do the game a different way next time. Other ways to play include:

5 Ways to Play include:

1. What Comes Next? Take turns placing the letter cards in the trunk in alphabetical order.

2. Memory Time Take turns repeating the sequence of cards already in the trunk, then adding one of your own and challenging other players to remember them all, in order.

3. Grandma’s Riddles Deal the cards, then read a riddle and race to see who has the letter card that answers it!

4. Letter Sequence Memory Deal the cards and take turns putting them in the trunk in alphabetical order, repeating the items already in the trunk and challenging other players to remember them all, in alphabetical order.

5. Grandma’s Adventures Place the letter cards in the trunk and take turns pulling them out to create a cooperative story: “Once upon a time there was a grandma. She saw an iguana.

I think doing a Grandma's Adventures will be our next game to play. It'll be a lot of fun! I highly recommend this game at a younger age then recommended by the website. It will teach sounds, letter recognition, and even start them on the spelling path. Although I'm not sure why Izzy thinks biguana starts with I.
